Fairygodboss

Fairygodboss is the largest career community for women*. Their mission is to help the women in their community by providing free resources and a safe, inclusive environment for highly motivated women to connect with other career-minded individuals and help one another to succeed.

At FGB, I owned and delivered dozens of successful projects while collaborating with the design, product and engineering teams.

Updated feed to a 3 rail layout

One mission I had was to update the look and feel of our new 3 rail layout on our community feed.

I created the entire left side that included ways to updated your profile, go to your groups, view companies you follow and check up on your alerts. New footer was also appended to solve the continuous scroll.

In the center column I created the top CTA for new posts including the illustration. This also comprises the pop up modal to customize your message and add images and videos. Adjustments were made to the like, comment, send and flag features on individual posts.

On the right hand side I created the personalize your jobs search card and the upcoming events section. Additionally, each section had to be responsive for mobile.

Altered illustration set

To elevate our site and give it a more charming inclusive feel, we purchased a set of illustrations that I altered and created new images based on our needs.

It was nice to have the basic shapes and inspiration to reform into a set that felt personalized for Fairygodboss.

Updated resource pages

Our mission was to overhaul all our existing resource pages and make them mobile friendly. By updating the UX design, these new pages are now easier to navigate and find.

add to new groups Modals

I was tasked to create an effortless walkthrough process for users to create their own groups. This was a brand new feature so we also needed to have an “explore more” walkthrough that explains the new elements to the users.

This was an exciting project where I got to lead a team of front end developers who wanted to brush up on their animation skills.

Messaging Platform

This was a new feature added so users can talk to their personal connections or start up a chat room from groups they previously joined.

This was an important project that pushed our community site to higher levels. We started off with simple MVP designs and progressed to groups, employers and your own connections.
